1. Agreement to Terms
By accessing or using the Jay Hayles Campaign website ("the Website"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website. The Website is operated by the Jay Hayles Campaign for Ward 2, Ajax Town Council 2026 ("the Campaign").
2. Use of the Website
You agree to use the Website only for lawful purposes. You may not:
- • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information through any form
- • Use automated systems (bots, scrapers) to access the Website without authorization
- • Attempt to interfere with the Website's operation, security, or accessibility
- • Use the Website to distribute spam, malware, or unsolicited messages

3. Donations
Donations to the Campaign are subject to the Ontario Municipal Elections Act, 1996 and all applicable regulations:
- • Only individuals normally resident in Ontario may contribute to a municipal campaign
- • Corporations, trade unions, and other organizations may not contribute
- • Contributions are subject to maximum limits as set by the Municipality of Ajax and Ontario law
- • Contributors must provide their full name and address for campaign finance records
- • Donations are not tax-deductible (municipal campaign contributions do not qualify for tax credits)
- • All donations are final. Refunds may be issued at the Campaign's sole discretion
Donation records are maintained as required by the Ontario Municipal Elections Act and may be included in the Campaign's financial statements filed with the municipal clerk.
4. Volunteer Participation
By signing up to volunteer, you agree to:
- • Provide accurate contact information
- • Participate in good faith and represent the Campaign respectfully
- • Understand that volunteering is unpaid and at-will — you may withdraw at any time
- • Follow applicable municipal bylaws when distributing campaign materials or canvassing
5. Intellectual Property
All content on this Website — including text, images, logos, graphics, and design — is the property of the Jay Hayles Campaign and is protected under Canadian copyright law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without written permission, except for personal, non-commercial use such as sharing on social media with proper attribution.
6. Disclaimer
The Website is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. The Campaign does not guarantee that the Website will be available at all times or free from errors. Policy positions and campaign information are subject to change and represent the views of the candidate at the time of publication.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Campaign and its representatives shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Website, including but not limited to loss of data or interruption of service.
