My Story
A Decade of Showing Up.
Jay Hayles is a dedicated firefighter, entrepreneur, public speaker, community builder, and proud father who has spent over a decade serving the people of Ajax and Durham on the front lines.
Known for stepping up in critical moments, Jay has built his life around protecting families, supporting residents, and strengthening the community he calls home.
Raised in Ajax and a graduate of Notre Dame Catholic Secondary School, Jay's connection to the community runs deep. His commitment to service extends far beyond his career, having mentored over 12,000 youth across the GTA through his organization GiGLife, helping young people build confidence, discipline, and direction.
As the founder of The JAXX, Jay has created a platform that supports and promotes local businesses, helping them grow and connect with the community.
Jay is also a coach with Special Olympics Canada, where he supports athletes through sport, mentorship, and encouragement.
As a father to his son, Jay understands that the decisions made today will shape the future for the next generation.
